Contexts
The view
CONTEXTS contains tasks belonging to a certain context.
Context means the place where the task shall be completed, for example "buy paint brushes" @paint store.
You can reorder anything in the list and context views - this means two dimensions! To reorder is a very simple way to create the needed priority amongst the tasks and lists. Simply drag and drop and you are done.
Contexts can be used in many smart ways to ensure you only enter information once. You can create as many contexts as you wish, but it's just possible to set one context for a task or list. You can even set the same context for a complete list using the smart list headings.
Tip! Create a context "Soon". It then allows you to reorder the tasks by controlling the task sequence independent of which list the tasks belong to. You get a perfect overview of the tasks to do in th nearest future per project list.
Example
Context @Meeting agenda
Select the context @Meeting agenda for all tasks to discuss during the meeting. The tasks can come from many different lists (projects). During the meeting preparation, you simply reorder the agenda items in your desired order using the context view for @Meeting agenda. Finally you just email the list to all meeting participants.
Example
Context @Errands and shopping
The context @Errands and shopping provides good overview. Create standard lists for all things you need to buy or do an errand, such as the shopping list, christmas gift ideas etc. Add the context @Errands and shopping on the complete list. If you have other tasks on other lists including a short errand in the city center, simply add the context to that task as well.
In the view for @Errands and shopping, you get a complete overview of all errands and the complete shopping list, independent of if they are private or work related. Before you leave - do not forget to reorder the tasks so you have your choice of order to finish all errands effectively.
