Guide: Lists

Lists

Using lists to group tasks enables you to order them optimally because:

  1. Lists can have exactly the same properties as tasks.
  2. The number of sub-lists is unlimited. Simply create a sub-list by selecting "Create list" in the task menu Quick menu.
  3. SaveYourDay's smart functions are located in the quick menu Quick menu, independent whether you are in the task or list view.

A good to-do list enables you to set the right priorities and make correct decisions. It is key to have a helicopter view and one of the tricks to acheive that is to have as few different lists as possible. A good way to split lists is for example to split between work related and private matter. That enables you to concentrate on the right things while working and relaxing while off work.

With SaveYourDay you always get:

  • Automatic links to contexts and tags.
  • Reminders (emails) premium when you reach a start date or deadline for a list or any of the tasks.
  • The time when a task is marked finished is automatically logged in the section Completed.
  • Every list and task with a start date or deadline are always shown in the section Overview premium Planned.
  • When a start date or deadline is within the same day or seven days from today, they are also shown in the views Overview Today and Overview Within 7 days.
  • A deleted list or task can always be recovered from the Trashbin Trashbin.

The to-do list has a tendency to grow and become too long if you mix tasks with "Maybe later". Ensure that the to-do list only includes the things you are 100% sure you can and want to complete.
